Chelsea are close to signing Abdul Rahman Baba in the summer, according to his agent Sascha Empacher. 

The highly rated young full-back from Augsburg has agreed personal terms with the Blues, his agent has confirmed. It is now up to the club to reach an agreement, though Bild suggest a deal around €25m is close being agreed. 

Emptier told Sport Bild via Goal.com: “It is only the clubs that have to find an agreement. We on our side are agreed.”

Chelsea are looking to sign a solid left back in the summer after the club allowed Filipe Luis to return to his former club Atletico Madrid. Cesar Azpilicueta, who mainly operates as a right back, is the only first choice left-back Chelsea have at the moment.

Rahman’s agent earlier confirmed that an offer had been made by Chelsea, and that it is his client’s desire to play for a top club. 

The Ghana defender has been an integral part of Augsburg last season. As things stand, Chelsea have already made a bid for the player, personal deal has been agreed, all it needs now is to reach an agreement with the club.
