Spanish giants Valencia have decided to sell their talented young midfielder Andre Gomes to Manchester United.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb (their Spanish version), Gomes is expected to join Manchester United in the summer. The report adds that Gomes will have to accept the club’s decision now unless he decides to force a move to Juventus.

The Portuguese midfielder has been a long-term target for the Premier League giants and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford over the last few weeks.

Gomes is also a target for the Italian champions Juventus who are hoping to replace Claudio Marchisio with the Valencia star.

Earlier there were rumours that the player’s agent Jorge Mendes had promised to bring the player to Manchester United in the summer. But then there were conflicting reports that Juventus were closing in on a move.

The whole saga keeps getting more complicated by the day and it is hard to tell which report is actually true.

Time will tell whether Gomes will end up at Old Trafford or in Turin, but there is little doubt that his future lies away from Valencia.
