Liverpool are thought to be interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino as a potential target in the summer.
The Reds are clear favourites to secure the Champions League spot this season. Should they achieve it, the Merseysiders would be in a good position to attract top players from around Europe, as manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he looks to identify next season signings for the club.
According to the Mirror, Reds are reportedly interested in the Brazilian, who has scored 17 goals and has netted 13 assists thus far.
Hoffenheim will be willing to sell him as his contract expires in 2015 and the German club would ask for a fee in the region of £12m.
However, should Liverpool qualify for the Champions League, they can easily pay that amount for the 22-year-old.
Liverpool will also be targeting a left-back in the summer. Aly Cissokho is almost certain to be sent back to Valencia while Jose Enrique’s fitness is a huge concern for the Reds.
