Aberdeen vs Celtic preview
Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side are ‘more exciting’ than the side that won consecutive trebles under Brendan Rodgers, reckons former Hoops striker Charlie Nicholas. And anyone who witnessed their first half demolition of Rangers in last week’s Old Firm win and subsequent 4-0 demolition of Motherwell will find it hard to argue otherwise.
Aberdeen could forgiven for coming into this match with some trepidation given their diabolical record against Celtic in recent years. While their home form has been one of the positives this term, boss Stephen Glass was furious with his side’s display in their 2-1 defeat to Livingston and accused his team of thinking they are better than they are.
He will be looking for a dramatic response against Celtic at Pittodrie but the bookmakers still make the home side big outsiders for the win at 5/1. Confidence levels are sky high among the league leaders who are gunning for the title, the Scottish Cup and the Europa League.
