England international striker Callum Wilson is Newcastle United’s new number 9 after Joelinton decided to hand him the shirt.
Wilson took the number 13 jersey when he joined the Magpies last season, with the Brazilian holding on to his shirt.
However, Joelinton will now don the number 7 jersey – previously worn by Andy Carroll – with Newcastle’s first-choice striker now following in the footsteps of Malcolm Macdonald, Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Les Ferdinand to wear the iconic jersey.
