Mancheter United had approached Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti for the vacant managerial job, according to Spanish daily El Confidencial.

Last week, representatives of United made an offer that would have made the Italian the highest paid coach/manager in the world, surpassing €17m, more than the money Pep Guardiola earns at Bayern Munich.

However, Ancelotti’s message was crystal clear: “Sorry, but I’m happy at Real Madrid.”

The former AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG coach didn’t leave any option as he believes he is currently managing the “best team in the world.” He dreams of the La Decima and wants to manage the Los Blancos for many years to come.

Plus, at Madrid, he is enjoying a great life, receiving respect and adoration from the fans, board members and the team as well.

The Spanish newspaper says that Ancelotti has been forced to say ‘no’ to Manchester United of the second time. Sir Alex Ferguson met him in Paris, probably offering him in the job, and now the answer has been relayed via club’s technical advocates.

Ancelotti has enjoyed an excellent first season at the club, leading the team to league cup victory, and could potentially win the La Liga and the Champions League as well.

Manchester United meanwhile are set to appoint Louis van Gaal as their next permanent manager while Ryan Giggs could be given a senior managing role.
