Andrew heads to Market Rasen for three systems-based horse racing selections on Thursday November 18th:

MARKET RASEN 12.52

VIKING RUBY (system – sire Sulamani, second run after a wind operation)

Progeny of the sire Sulamani have a seven from 24 record on their second run back after wind surgery, landing seven of their 24 starts for a profit of £37.20 to a £1 level stake at SP. Jobsonfire, selected on this system last week, ran a cracker to finish second at Worcester (14-1 from 33-1) and VIKING RUBY, who found the ground too soft when well held at Exeter last time, could be the answer to this mares’ handicap hurdle.

MARKET RASEN 1.22

JESUITIQUE (system – Dr Richard Newland in Pertemps Qualifiers, 9-1 or shorter)

Dr Richard Newland’s fancied runners in Pertemps Qualifiers usually perform well, with those who returned at a Starting Price of 9-1 or shorter winning four of their 11 starts for a profit of £11.38 to a £1 level stake at SP. Four of the beaten horses finished second (8-1, 7-1, 6-1 and 5-1). JESUITIQUE can make it three from three for his current trainer.

MARKET RASEN 1.52

TORIGNI (system – Harry Whittington, younger French-bred chasers)

Trainer Harry Whittington does extremely well over fences with the horses he gets from France and had we backed all the younger ones (aged four, five or six) we’d have won 16 of our 40 bets (40% strike-rate) and made a profit of £20.51 to a £1 level stake at SP. TORIGNI was well beaten on his comeback at Chepstow last month but that was in a Grade 3 handicap hurdle and he could be worth chancing when he makes his chase debut this afternoon.
