Manchester United youngster James Wilson is set for a loan move to a Championship club, according to reports from the BBC.

However, any deal for Wilson, who will be allowed to leave to gain more experience of first team football, will have an instant release clause. The emergency loan window opened yesterday, which has opened up the possibility of Wilson moving.

The 19-year-old came up through the ranks at Manchester United and made his first team debut in the 2013/14 season. But he has seen limited playing time at the club thus far, playing only 13 times in the Premier League last season while scoring a solitary goal.

Wilson’s departure will further dwindle the attacking ranks at the Old Trafford outfit, with the club having overseen the departures of three strikers, namely, Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Angelo Henriquez while only bringing in Anthony Martial from Monaco in the summer.

The England Under-21s international was believed to have interested many clubs during the summer, but he remained part of the squad and was also named in United’s 25-man squad for the Champions League.

Wilson’s departure will leave the club with only two out-and-out forwards in captain Wayne Rooney and Martial. He made his England Under-21s debut last week, and found the net as he helped his team to a win over the USA Under-23s.
