Aon, Manchester United and Charity

Aon, Manchester United and Charity

Nov 14, 2024 7:04 PM

At half-time at the Manchester United – Liverpool game on Sunday, Aon (United’s new shirt sponsors) will be hosting a charity event on the pitch.

Five children from the Manchester United Soccer Schools will each take one shot at a goal from a place on the pitch between the penalty spot and the six-yard box (there will be a hole in the “o” in an Aon banner at the East stand goal for them to shoot through).

For each goal scored Aon will donate GBP2,000 to the Manchester United Foundation up to a total of GBP10,000.

This is a continuation of the charitable endeavors Aon started on June 1st when they launched their partnership at Old Trafford with a charity event where Aon donated over GBP30,000 to The Christie, a children’s cancer facility in Manchester that is supported by the Manchester United Foundation and by Aon’s Manchester office.

This is great news – cynicism aside, it’s good to see sponsors give something back to the community, in this case through the causes Manchester United themselves support.
