Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has announced his retirement from football and has joined Sky Sports as a pundit in a deal worth up to £25m. This contract will allow him to start work on his coaching badges which could possibly see him return to Arsenal. Henry’s decision to hang up his boots brings down curtains to one of the most illustrious careers of the past two decades, something which the Arsenal fans will never ever forget.

The 37 year old chose to announce retirement, opting not to sign a new contract with MLS club New York Red Bulls. Henry will now return to London from New York in the first week of the new year and will then start his work with Sky Sports shortly.

Henry will be Sky’s ambassador and will lead their biggest advertising and marketing campaigns. The former Arsenal legend will join Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville as an expert analyst and will cover Arsenal’s games right throughout the season. Henry has immense experience working as a pundit being a guest analyzer for Sky before and was also a part of BBC’s World Cup coverage in the summer.

The striker is expected to take help from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola as he starts working to become a qualified coach. Wenger had in fact earlier said that Henry will certainly return to the Gunners in the future.
