Arsenal Roundup: Hector Bellerin signs new long term contract

Arsenal Roundup: Hector Bellerin signs new long term contract

Oct 30, 2024 7:29 PM

Arsenal have finally reached an agreement with Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin over a new long-term contract. As per latest reports, Bellerin has now put pen to paper on a six-and-a-half year deal worth over£100,000 a week.

The former Barcelona full-back was being monitored by several European heavyweights, and Arsenal have done well to tie him down to a new deal now. The Gunners are now expected to move forward with new deals for Ozil and Sánchez.

Bellerin is one of the best players in his position already, and was being linked with a return to Barcelona as a long-term replacement for Dani Alves. Clearly, Wenger sees him as a key part of Arsenal’s future, and has therefore offered him a bumper pay raise and a lengthy contract.

In other news, Arsenal target,Julian Draxler, could be up for sale in the summer.

Draxler wanted to leave Wolfsburg this summer, but the German outfit blocked a transfer back then. Club director, Klaus Allofs, has confirmed that the German winger will be allowed to leave at the end of the season. The news will come as a major boost toArsenal and Wenger.

Allofs said,  “We’ll evaluate the situation differently, and we may do things differently next time. Does this mean letting him [Draxler] leave Potentially.”

Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the former Schalke man and could make a move if he is, indeed, up for grabs at the end of the season.

Draxler would be a massive upgrade on the likes of Ramsey (when used as a winger) and Iwobi. However, Wolfsburg will look to demand a premium for his services. Draxler had a very good Euro 2016 and is still far from his peak.
