Martinez is the most expensive signing for Bayern but he has not been properly used by Guardiola. The Spaniard has been frequently used in central defence, a position he can play but doesn’t prefer, especially when a season ago, he was getting regular starts in central midfielder under Heynckes.
Bild says Martinez has a contract till 2017 and will be available for £35m. With Manchester City hit by FFP punishments, should Arsenal make a move for him in the summer
