Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil believes he has the talent in him to become the world’s best player in future.

Ozil has struggled in the early part of the season mainly through injuries, missing three months of action with a knee ligament injury.

The 26-year-old however has rediscovered his form in 2015, and his outstanding performances have helped Arsenal mount a late challenge for the Premier League title.

Ozil is convinced his career is shaping up in the right direction and can go on to emulate the likes of Ronaldo and Messi and win the Ballon d’Or in future.

“Should I continue to improve myself and stay healthy, I want to get my hands on the Ballon d’Or in the upcoming years,” the Germany international told Sport Bild, via ESPN. “I am convinced that it can work out. I am headed in the right direction.

“I am a world champion and play at a top club in the Premier League. It’s far more physical here [England] than in Spain or in the Bundesliga. I constantly have bruises. But it only makes me stronger. And physically I feel better than ever before.”

Ozil, who missed the last week Premier League tie against Newcastle, has been recalled to the Germany national squad for the friendly against Australia on Wednesday and the Euro 2016 qualifier in Georgia on Sunday.
