Not so good news for Arsenal fans if they are hoping to see a few more signings in the transfer window as the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the North London club are not close to doing any signing.
The Emirates club have been impressive in the ongoing summer transfer window. Arsenal have added Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United, David Ospina arrived from Nice and Calum Chambers was signed from Southampton.
Wenger admitted that he does not have anything special to add when asked about the transfers.
“Not at the moment, no. I have nothing special to add on that at the moment. Honestly, we are not close to signing anybody,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, Arsenal saw their latest fixture of the Champions League play-off end in a goalless draw against Besiktas. The game ended in a goalless draw as the Gunners failed to score the much needed away goal.
In addition to this, Wenger saw his star player Aaron Ramsey sent off during the match. Wenger hailed the Turkish capital club for their display.
“We faced a very good Besiktas team tonight who were at our level. Their commitment was absolutely fantastic,” the Gunners added.
