Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini have returned to training, but admitted that they will not fit for the weekend clash.
The Gunners host Everton in the Premier League clash at the Emirates on Sunday. The last time these two team met forced Olivier Giroud come from the bench and scored twice against the Merseyside club.
Ramsey limped off after coming from the bench against Leicester City and since then he has been out of action. Meanwhile, the French midfielder is also closing in on returning to full fitness.
” They [Ramsey and Flamini] come back into normal training today and tomorrow. They are nearly there, not completely there. From Wednesday night I don’t think we have lost anybody. We have no major problems,” Wenger told in his pre-match press conference.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman also confirmed that Jack Wilshere underwent a surgery as he had to take two buttons off his ankle.
“Jack Wilshere had a little surgery to take his two buttons off his ankle because they were irritating him but it’s a very minor procedure. He’ll be out for a few days. Yes. It was irritating his ankle and they had to take it off,” Arsenal manager said.
When asked if Wilshere’s latest surgery was a setback, Wenger said: “No, it was planned to be done at the end of the season. But because he had an irritation with it, we decided to do it now. It’s a few days.”
Arsenal are third in the league table with 48 points from 26 games and the north London club will be looking for nothing less than a win over Roberto Martinez’s side on Sunday.
