Artur Beterbiev’s next fight is signed and sealed for June 1st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He started off 2024 with a bang, knocking Britain’s Callum Smith out in Round 7 of their unified world light-heavyweight contest.
Now, fans are desperate to see the undisputed clash at light-heavyweight between Beterbiev and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Bivol. Bivol holds the one world title belt that Beterbiev doesn’t have – the WBA Super World Light-Heavyweight Title.
The Bivol bout is cemented for June 1st in Saudi Arabia, so fingers crossed the fight goes ahead with no postponements. In his post-fight interview after the Smith fight, Top Rank kingpin Bob Arum said the Bivol fight was next for Beterbiev, which seems to have come to fruition.
The reason it won’t happen earlier than that is due to Ramadan. Artur Beterbiev will do Ramadan from March to April time, which of course means he can’t fully train during this period. After Ramadan is finished, then Beterbiev could begin training camp properly for the Bivol undisputed fight in the summer.
Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol is the only fight left to see in the light-heavyweight division. Fingers crossed the fight goes down on June 1st and there are no cancellations or postponements between now and then.
Are There Any Belts On The Line In Artur Beterbiev’s Next Fight
Artur Beterbiev’s next fight has of course been officially confirmed against Dmitry Bivol. This is the only fight that boxing fans desire in the light-heavyweight division. The fight simply must happen, and the Saudi’s are the ones that will make it happen this summer, as they have proved lately.
In terms of belts and collateral, should the Bivol fight be next for Artur Beterbiev, all four undisputed world light-heavyweight titles would be on the line. As the unified world light-heavyweight king, the WBC, IBF & WBO World Light-Heavyweight Titles come to the ring from Beterbiev’s side.
The other world title belt at 175-pounds, the WBA-Super World Light-Heavyweight Title, is of course held by Dmitry Bivol. This means that all four belts at light-heavyweight will be on the line for the undisputed Beterbiev vs Bivol fight, should it go ahead on June 1st.
Beterbiev first became world champion when knocking out Enrico Koelling to win the IBF World Light-Heavyweight Title. He then defended that belt twice before unifying the division against Oleksandr Gvozdyk, picking up the WBC title in the process.
The Canada resident then defended his two world title belts on two occasions, before adding a third in the shape of the WBO strap when knocking out Joe Smith Jr inside two rounds. In his last two fights, Artur Beterbiev defended his three belts against Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith respectively.

As the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol fight is now confirmed for June 1st in Saudi Arabia, their is rumoured to be a strong undercard to go with it. It has been rumoured that the Matchroom vs Queensberry/Eddie Hearn vs Frank Warren 5 vs 5 will take place on the Beterbiev vs Bivol undercard.
However, as of today the rest of the undercard is yet to be officially determined.
