Barcelona announced today that they have agreed to extend the partnership with UNICEF through to the 2011/2012 season. The current contract was ending in June 2011.
The UNICEF logo will remain on the shirt, however, it will be shifted to below the player’s number.
Since 2006, Barca has supported UNICEF to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of children. The next phase of the partnership is still under discussion and further details will be announced in June.
Back in February, it was revealed that Barcelona will replace the UNICEF logo from the front with the Qatar Foundation after signing a €150 million deal.
This is the first time in the history of FC Barcelona, that they are going to wear a sponsored football shirt.
