Raheem Sterling seems all set to leave the Merseyside club after his claims that Liverpool are trying to bully him into signing a new deal.
Earlier in the season, Sterling explained that he has decided to put contract talks on hold for now and will resume at the end of the season. The England International also claimed that he is uncertain about his future at Liverpool and money was not the reason behind him stalling the contract negotiations.
Regardless of what has been said about Sterling, it is evident that the former QPR teenager has had his head turned by his agent, who believes Sterling is ready to take the next step at a top European club. The departure of Suarez and now Gerrard, coupled with the fact that the Anfield outfit have missed out on the Champions League has been the main reason behind the Sterling fiasco.
According to German newspaper Bild, Bayern Munich are interested in the Liverpool attacker and are looking to strike a deal this summer.
Bayern are seeking alternatives for the ageing Frank Ribery and the German giants believe Raheem Sterling could be the perfect solution. Guardiola’ brother, Pere is thought to have been in contact with the Sterling camp since December.
Sterling has also attracted a lot of interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. Should Raheem Sterling decide to leave by any means, Liverpool will be happy with the growing number of suitors. which might spark a bidding war.
Raheem Sterling is thought to be valued at around 30 million euros, but it is unlikely that Liverpool are going to cash in at that price. With no Champions League football on offer, the Reds are going to have to shell out a premium for their transfers and the Sterling sale will be an opportunity for them to recoup some of the money spent.
