Chelsea linked with SHOCK transfer for best defender in the world

Chelsea linked with SHOCK transfer for best defender in the world

Chelsea have been linked with a shock transfer of club legend, John Terry this morning.

The Chelsea captain is not only a club legend, but one of the finest defenders of his generation. Terry was arguably the best centre back in the world last season alongside the likes of Pique and Otamendi.

After his tactical substitution in Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat away to Manchester City, the Blues captain has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

According to Mail, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are keen to sign the England star and are willing to offer him a net salary of 2.5 million pounds per season.

The Chelsea star is out of contract next summer and Fenerbahce want him on a free transfer.

Chelsea fans will certainly be shocked with the links considering the Stamford Bridge faithful adore their captain and the prospect of him leaving the club is unthinkable.

Chelsea are already looking to replace Terry long term and are after Everton defender John Stones. With Mourinho’s willingness to pay upto 40 million pounds for a young defender, one has to wonder if Jose knows that Terry’s time is up sooner rather than later.

Terry has previously shown interest in moving to Turkey and is allowed to open talks with foreign clubs, considering he has just a year left on his current contract with the Champions.

It will be interesting to see how much or if there is any truth to these reports, but it will be a massive loss for Chelsea if Terry was to leave, both on and off the pitch.
