French champions PSG have had held discussions with Chelsea, over a possible swap deal between Edinson Cavani and Diego Costa, according to reports from French magazine Le 10 Sport, relayed by Sport.
Cavani has reportedly grown frustrated at PSG and wants a move away from Parc des Princes in the summer. The reason being, he has been frequently used out of his position (mostly on the wide) by Laurent Blanc.
The Uruguayan has always been a great goal scorer, and he feels the time is right for him to move to a big European club where he will given the lead striker role for the side.
PSG value him at €36m, and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea are willing to do a business for the 29-year-old striker.
The idea of a potential swap deal with Costa, however, is hilarious.
Costa has been Chelsea’s first choice striker ever since he made the move from Atletico Madrid in 2014.
Although, he has struggled in early part of the 2015-16 campaign, but Costa is still central to Chelsea’s plans. The club have no intentions to sell him at the moment. Moreover, Costa may not be interested in moving to PSG. He would rather welcome a return to Atletico instead.
Premier League giants Manchester United are also equally interested in signing the Uruguayan.
In fact, Cavani’s father recently stated that a move to Real Madrid or Manchester United would be a good option for his son, should the Uruguayan ever decide to leave PSG.
There is a high chance that Cavani could leave PSG next summer. His future destination, however, is still unknown.
