Chelsea open negotiation, deal can be done in next few days?

Oct 2, 2024 4:42 PM

The best part of any transfer window is its unpredictable nature. For instance, several media outlets were convinced few days back that Andrej Kramaric would sign for Chelsea, and now Leicester City have emerged as the leading candidate to sign the Croatian striker.

Likewise, the future of Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech as also come under intense speculation. The veteran goal keeper has lost his starting position to Thibaut Courtois this season, while he himself has spoken about his desire to play regularly, resulting in wide speculation about his future, and has been linked with several top clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG by the English tabloids time to time.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has recently confirmed that goal keeper Mark Schwarzer will be leaving the club, as a result, there is no chance for Petr Cech to move elsewhere in January.

However, according to Sky Italia, Cech is close to joining Italian giants Roma.

David Amoyal, a member of Gianluca di Marzio, clarified yesterday that Roma were interested in Cech, and that they had covered the story few weeks ago, but nothing in concrete at the moment.

However, respected journalist Goncalo Lopez has given the latest update on Cech’s transfer and he is certain that the deal is likely to take place within next few days.

Mourinho cannot offer Cech regular first team football at Chelsea. He would want him to stay no doubt, but he would also understand that Cech has a lot of football left in him and deserves to play regularly elsewhere. He is not doing him any favour by keeping him on bench week in week out.

So, basically all sorts of contradictory reports – better we wait and watch how the transfer saga unfolds. Should Cech leave Chelsea in January
