This summer is going to be massive for German giants Borussia Dortmund. Their manager Jurgen Klopp revealed early this year that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. And going by the media reports, several top players at the club could leave as well. Put it simply, Dortmund are expected to go through a massive rebuilding phase.
According to German tabloid Bild, Dortmund are showing keen interest in Belgium youngster Youri Tielemans. The 18-year-old RSC Anderlecht midfielder has played against Dortmund when both the club met in the Champions League earlier this season in the group stages. Bild claim the youngster is one of the prime targets for Dortmund in the summer and would cost around €15m.
The highly talented Belgian midfielder plays in central midfield and could replace Ilkay Gundogan at the club, who is being heavily linked with a move to several European clubs including Manchester United and Barcelona.
Gundogan has a contract at Dortmund till 2016, but the German midfielder doesn’t want to extend his contract at the club. Dortmund want to cash in on him and would ask for a fee around €25m.
Bild reckon that Dortmund are not the only one vying for the signature of the Belgian midfielder. They may face strong competitions from Premier League champions Chelsea and Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.
