Chelsea vs Norwich City: Goals, Highlights and Twitter Reaction

Chelsea vs Norwich City: Goals, Highlights and Twitter Reaction

Oct 7, 2024 8:35 AM

Chelsea ended a three-game losing streak by putting in a convincing performance en route to beating Norwich City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. The winner was scored by Diego Costa midway through the second half. The Spaniard ended his long drought after latching onto a quick free-kick from Cesc Fabregas, beating a defender and curling the ball past John Ruddy.

Twitter reacts to Diego Costa’s goal:

That was Diego Costa’s first goal in nearly 500 minutes of playing time. Great timing to get back on track! #cfc — Jake Cohen (@JakeFCohen) November 21, 2015

There was a marked improvement in the performances of several individuals who have been heavily criticised this season. The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic and John Terry all had solid games, while Eden Hazard finally re-produced his form from last season in a man-of-the-match performance. The Belgian took on and beat players with ease, and moved silkily across every area of the pitch. This aspect of his game had gone completely missing from his game up until now, and it was a great sight to see last season’s Player of the Year almost back to his best.

Expectedly enough, Twitter was full of praise for Hazard’s performance.

I cannot explain in 140 characters how good Eden Hazard was in the 45 minutes of the game we managed to watch. Looked as good as ever. — Patrick Isitt (@eyesit1521) November 21, 2015

The feel-good factor around Stamford Bridge seemed to be back to slight extent, but one would feel that Chelsea’s next assignment – an away to White Hart Lane against an in-form Spurs side, will tell us a lot more about their character and fight. But for now, they can enjoy the moment. Chelsea 1-0 Norwich CityChelsea 1-0 Norwich City

26 more points and we are safe. Come on Chelsea! — Arif Chowdhury (@arifcfc1905) November 21, 2015

For almost the first time, the players have shown that they care.Confidence looks to be marginally back, but the real test is next week #CFC
