Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes is a man in demand this summer.
The Portuguese midfielder is a target for Juventus, Manchester United and Chelsea.
At one point it seemed like the player was heading to Old Trafford, mainly because of Mourinho’s connections with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
However, that has not stopped the likes of Juventus and Chelsea from trying. Furthermore, it seems that Valencia are determined to start at bidding war. In that case, everyone will have a chance.
Valencia knocked back Chelsea’s 27 million pounds bid earlier and have asked for a fee of 42 million pounds. Apparently, the Spanish giants will have to pay Benfica a large chunk of the fee due to a sell on clause and therefore they are looking to drive the price up.
As things stand, Chelsea can sign the player of they agree to match Valencia’s demands. The Spanish club have decided the fee for the Portuguese international and it will be a sum of 42 million pounds.
The Blues are likely to miss out on Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who is being offered a new deal to stay in Rome. Therefore, they will make Gomes their priority target.
