Chis Sutton aims a dig at Rangers as Celtic crowned SPL champions

Oct 19, 2024 7:47 PM

Glasgow Rangers have finished second in the Scottish Premiership table after Ibrox-rivals Celtic have been crowned SPFL champions on Monday.

The 2019-20 Scottish Premiership season has been abandoned. The SPFL have ended the season early due to the global health crisis.

As a result, Hearts are now relegated to the Championship. The Gers have finished second behind Celtic who have now won the Scottish Premier League title for the 9th consecutive season.

The SPFL have confirmed in a statement on Monday that they have used the points-per-game system to finalise the standings.

Chris Sutton, former Celtic striker turned popular football pundit, has aimed a cheeky dig at Rangers after the announcement was made.

Fair play to Rangers closing the gap to 13 points
