Chelsea have re-signed their former striker Didier Drogba as the Blues legend completed his move on Friday.
A statement on their official website read,” Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the return of Didier Drobga. The striker has signed a one-year contract. Drogba of course needs no introduction.”
The Ivory Coast international was one of the star signings during Jose Mourinho’s first spell at Stamford Bridge. The 36-year-old joined the West London club in 2014, before leaving them in 2012 after guiding them to their first Champions League trophy.
The Blues manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his delight after re-signing his former player.
“He’s coming because he’s one of the best strikers in Europe. I know his personality very well and I know if he comes back he’s not protected by history or what he’s done for this club previously. He is coming with the mentality to make more history,” Chelsea manager said.
