Everton are ready to make a move for Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko, according to reports from ESPNFC.
Fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be long-term admirers of the Ukrainian forward, who had also been linked with Stoke City, but the Toffees are reportedly looking to move ahead in the race for his signature by tabling an offer in the region of £15m.
Yarmolenko’s signing could be a boost to Roberto Martinez’s side who have failed to significantly add to their squad over the summer, while transfer chatter at Goodison Park has been mostly regarding defender John Stones’ potential move to Chelsea.
The 25-year-old will bolster Everton’s attacking options, and will provide an added option in the wide areas. He scored 19 goals and provided 21 assists in all competitions for Dynamo Kiev in the 2014/15 season.
Martinez was forced to play with striker Arouna Kone on the right flank due to Kevin Mirallas’ injury-induced absence in last weekend’s win over Southampton, and Yarmolenko’s arrival will ease the burden on Martinez and will add depth to his squad.
Yarmolenko, who is regarded as one of the most exciting attackers in Europe, provided the most assists in last season’s Europa League.
Incidentally, Everton were knocked out of the second tier European competition by Yarmolenko’s Dynamo Kiev in a 5-2 humiliation in the Round of 16 last season.
