Championship side, Reading, will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, the defending champions, in the 2016-17 FA Cup third round.

West Ham will host Manchester City in the all-Premier League ties, while Everton will take on Premier League champions Leicester City. Other top flight pairing includes Swansea City travelling to KCOM Stadium to face Hull City.

Chelsea, the 2016-17 Premier League leaders, will face Notts County or Peterborough United, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side drew Newport County.

Tottenham Hotspur are handed a tricky fixture as they face Aston Villa — a much improved side under manager Steve Bruce.

The visit of Reading will see a return to Old Trafford of former United defender, Japp Stam, who played a crucial role for the club in their 1999 treble-winning season.

Stam’s former United team-mate, Andy Cole, said on BBC Two, “I look forward to that. He’s done very well at Reading. I’m really pleased for him.”

Newport, a fan-owned club, is relishing the prospect of facing Liverpool at Anfield. The club’s chairman, Gavin Foxall, said it would be a “massive financial boost” for the club.

Stourbridge United, the lowest ranked club left in the competition, face a potential trip to League Two Wycombe Wanderers, should the seventh-tier Northern Premier League Premier Division club beat Northampton Town in a rearranged fixture.
