Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes Belgium winger Eden Hazard can be as good as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hazard, who signed a five year contact in February, deal set to worth up to £200k-per-week, has played a major role in helping Chelsea win their third league title under Jose Mourinho.
The Belgian winger was named the PFA Player of the Year in 2014-15 and has 14 goals and eight assists to his name in the league this season. However, his contribution to Chelsea goes beyond just goals and assists, his tremendous work ethics and dynamism across the pitch has galvanised the entire team to reach a different level this season.
Fabregas has challenged Hazard to continue his good form, as the Premier League champions chase European glory next season.
“He can be one of those, for sure. He can be up there for sure. He’s had a fantastic season, I just want for him to do it again next year and to be even better,” the Spaniard said, as quoted by Four Four Two.
“He’s the main guy. In my mind he is the guy that makes this team better than it is.
“Next year he has to prove himself in the Champions League as well because he is capable of that, and I am sure he will give many big nights of glory to this club.”
Hazard has all the potentials to reach the levels of Ronaldo and Messi, who are widely considered as the two best players in the world at the moment (both sharing seven Ballon d’Or titles between them) but for that to happen, he needs to add more goals to his game. He is only 24 and has yet to reach the peak of his career, so there is every possibility that he could reach the dizzy height in future, provided he continues to perform at a high level.
