The arrival of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United has inevitably cast some doubts regarding Juan Mata’s future at the club.
Mourinho sold the Spanish attacking midfielder from Chelsea a few years ago despite Mata being their best player for two seasons in a row and there are rumours that the same thing might happen again at Manchester United.
According to reports, Mata is already looking at a future away from Old Trafford and could end up in Turkey next season.
Fenerbahce have already begun negotiations for the Manchester United star, but the player will have to lower his wage demands if he wants to play in the Turkish league. Fenerbahce or any Turkish club for that matter, won’t be able to afford Mata’s current wages.
Despite a big money move to Manchester United, Juan Mata has failed to replicate his Chelsea form and has struggled to hold down a first team place under Louis Van Gaal.
It will be interesting to see if the rumours are true and Mata is indeed headed to Turkey. But if Mourinho decides to get rid of him, Mata will certainly have a lot of suitors from the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga.
For a player of his calibre, a move to Turkey, MLS or China will be too soon right now.
