Tottenham’s hopes of swinging a permanent deal for on-loan striker Fraizer Campbell have been dealt a big blow, as Sir Alex Ferguson has said he does intend to bring him back to Manchester United next summer.
Campbell has impressed at Tottenham since moving to the club as part of Dimitar Berbatov’s 30.75m move to Manchester United, and Harry Redknapp recently said that he wants to sign the England Under-21 sensation permanently.
However, SAF has no intention of letting Campbell go, and with his comments, you’d have to think that he’s got big plans for Campbell next term. Even if Carlos Tevez remains at United, you can never have enough strikers, and with as much potential as Campbell has, he will get his chance to make an impact next season.
With having gotten top-flight and European experience this season at Tottenham, Campbell will be ready to take full advantage of the opportunities that he looked set to receive at United this season before being sent to Spurs. And as hard done by as Redknappy may feel that Fergie is bullish on bringing back one of his top prospects, there’s no shortage of striking options for him to pursue in January or next summer, may it be Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch, or someone else.
