Did you know
Men spend 25% more time thinking, talking and watching football than loking after children.Men spend more time per week thinking, talking and watching football than they spend on cleaning, washing and ironing.Even in recession, 25% of unemployed Britishers who support a football team would miss a job interview in order to watch their team play.More than twice as many men would prefer to watch football at home (38%) than at a pub (15%).43% of men admitted that they would miss spending a day out with their family in order to watch their team play in a final.
On average, a male football fan begins watching football at age eight and during his lifetime he will go on to spend a 26,461 hours and 36 minutes obsessing about the beautiful game via TV, interner, text and chatting with friends, family, kids and work colleagues (let me do the math for you: 26,461 hours and 36 = 3 years, 7 days, 13 hours and 36 minutes – not enough in my opinion).
Men are not at all that bad. Even though they’ll spend lesser time looking after children, they will spend double the amount of time with their partners than they do obsessing about football.
Note: The survey was conducted online between July 28 and August 2, 2010 by YouGov Plc. Total sample size was 4,409 adult (18+) football fans only.
