With Leighton Baines on the verge of signing a new deal at Everton, Man Utd have reportedly turned their attention to Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno.
According to the Daily Mirror, David Moyes’ scouts have been watching the 21-year-old over the past few months, with the Scot targeting a long-term replacement for Patrice Evra.
Baines, who was Moyes’ top target this winter, is set to reject his former boss and sign a new three and a half year contract with Everton, a deal reportedly worth £75,000 per week.
The likes of Inter Milan’s Yugo Nagomoto and Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao have been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford these past few weeks, and Sevilla’s Moreno can now be added to the list of potential candidates.

Rated at around £18m, Moreno has shot to prominence this year, and has won two caps for Spain so far. Athletic, quick and technically gifted, the youngster also seems to have the maturity to succeed at Old Trafford, and in the Premier League.
Chelsea have been linked with the player in recent weeks (via the Daily Mail), but with Jose Mourinho seemingly preferring a bid for Southampton’s Luke Shaw, Manchester United may have clear seas ahead as they move towards finding Evra’s successor.
