Former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has been named as the new Schalke manager on Tuesday.
The Italian manager guided the west London club to their only Champions League glory after taking over the club’s managerial role in 2012. However, the same year, the44-year0old was shown the exit door.
The Bundesliga club have been struggling this season and have just two wins from 10 matches in all competitions. Schalke parted ways with Jens Keller after their 2-1 defeat against Hoffenheim. They have now replaced Keller with Di Matteo.
“FC Schalke 04 have parted company with Jens Keller. Roberto Di Matteo to take charge,” Schalke tweeted.
