According to reports in France, Liverpool are set to offer €12.5m to Marseille to acquire the services of dazzling winger Andre Ayew in the summer. The 24 year old versatile midfielder can play either or a winger or as a second striker just off the main target man up front.
The French side had however earlier rejected Napoli’s offer of €8m plus Goran Pandev for the Ghana International who will get a chance to hone his skills in the upcoming World Cup for his country.
Liverpool however believe that they can lure the player to Anfield by offering Champions League football next season. Ayew who had a decent campaign for Marseille this season scoring 8 goals and grabbing 3 assists in 29 appearances will offer the Reds a different attacking dimension with his ability to hold on to the ball and cut inside with pace.
On asked whether he would be present at Marseille next season, the winger had earlier stated that, “Everything is possible, but for now I’m here. I am very happy to be at Olympique de Marseille.”
The player however hasn’t made it secret that he wishes to play in the Premier League one day. English tabloid Express quoted Ayew as saying, “The Premier League is a league every player dreams about. The English league is the one most followed in Ghana.”
“It’s true that I have a real preference for England,” the Express quoted Ayew as saying “I like everything about it; the atmosphere, the game, the fans. There is a lot of intensity. It is a beautiful championship.”
