Argentina scored a late first half goal against Germany and held on for the 1-0 win.
The goal came from Gonzalo Higuain who got behind the defense on a breakaway. German goalkeeper Rene Adler came out to try and cut off the ball but missed and Higuain had a wide open net. He easily scored and that was all the South American side needed to get the win.
The win should give a confidence boost to the Argentines who didn’t have a great qualifying campaign.
