Germany vs England: Possible starting line ups, Live Stream info

Nov 2, 2024 5:28 AM

England will step up their preparation for the Euro 2016 on Saturday in a friendly match at Munich’s Olympiastadion against their familiar nemesis, Germany.

Roy Hodgson is missing several key players for this game, but his inexperienced yet a highly talented side are already dreaming ambitiously of glory at the Euros in France.

How England should approach the game Throughout the history, England have always played with passion and intensity but these qualities aren’t enough to beat a strong European opposition like Germany. They have to be more European in their approach, that is, they must not risk surrendering possession lightly to their opponents.

Hodgson is missing his skipper Wayne Rooney through injury, while Jack Wilshere, Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling are also ruled out. The former Liverpool manager will look to Southampton’s Fraser Forster or alternatively could turn to Stoke City’s Jack Butland.

Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater has got a deserved national team call up, after series of impressive performances for the Foxes this season. But he is likely to get his chance against Holland on Tuesday, and may not be used against Germany.

In the defence, Tottenham left back Danny Rose will make his international debut for England. Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson are all likely to start against Germany.

Danny Welbeck will return to the starting line up and he will form a three-man forward line alongside Lallana and Kane. Joachim Low praised England striker Jamie Vardy ahead of the match and earmarked him as a dangerous player, but Hodgson will start with the inform Kane, who scored 21 goals this season.

Possible England Starting Line up:

4-3-3: Butland, Rose, Smalling, Clyne, Henderson, Alli, Dier, Lallana, Kane, Welbeck.

Possible Germany Starting Line up:

4-2-3-1: Neuer, Ginter, Rudiger, Hummels, Hector, Khedira, Kroos, Muller, Ozil, Reus, Gomez.

Live Stream: WatchESPN.
