Pedro Rodriguez grabbed the headlines again in the Spanish media, after he scored the winner in Barcelona’s 5-4 victory over Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday night. It’s time to focus on his transfer move, and as per the latest report, the Spain international is all set to join Manchester United, despite being advised not to do so by former Barca great Hristo Stoichkov.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial starts with the headline ‘Pedro leaves with glory’ (google translation) and inside the article, they claim Pedro is ready to leave Barca to join Manchester United.

Pedro had long taken this decision, after finding regular game time being limited at the club. The Spaniard found difficult to force his way into the first team, as the trident of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi did exceptionally well last season.

Barcelona want to retain his services, but El Confidencial claim “there’s no turning back” for Pedro. It will be difficult for the Spain international to move away from his beloved club but he believes the time is right for him to move elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Pedro was angry with the comments made by Barcelona’s technical secretary, Robert Fernandez, who claimed that Pedro has asked for a transfer this summer.

“The sports director says I said I want out He shouldn’t say that, I barely talked with him,” Pedro said.

“I talked with the president and others. This is a difficult situation for me, of course I wanted to start. I don’t know what will happen, but I will always be a Barça fan.

“Do I want to leave The answer is ‘no’, but my situation is difficult. It’s not about money, but about more playing time.”

As it stands, Pedro is set to leave Spain to join Manchester United. The Red Devils just need to meet his 30m valuation, which the Spanish media think is just a formality. Is it really happening, then
