Chelsea and Arsenal set to miss out on Porto striker Jackson Martinez, after his agent claimed that the Colombian will sign a new deal within next few days.
Several European clubs are thought to be interested in the striker, who has scored 13 goals in 16 league appearance so far this season.
The player himself dropped hints of his desire to play in the Premier League and especially for London clubs, when he said last month that as a child he used to support Chelsea and Arsenal.
The 27-year-old joined Porto in 2012 and has scored 49 goals in 66 games in all competitions. Recent reports claimed that he was one of the prime targets of both Arsenal and Chelsea; however, his agent Luis Manuel Manso claims the striker is set to commit his future to Porto by putting pen to paper to sign a new deal.
“It is okay, I will travel to Porto next week to discuss the renewal. There is already an agreement to renew.” Manso said in Radio Station Renaissance.
The striker has a contract till 2016 and has a release clause of £34m. While as often with cases with Portuguese club, a new contract could just be a ploy to bag a hefty transfer fee in the summer, should he continues to perform at this level.
