No formal offer has been accepted as of now but with talks ongoing, a move for the Colombian is on the cards before the deadline day. But the deal hinges on potential exits for two Chelsea players, Mohammed Salah and most importantly Andre Schurrle, the German who is wanted by Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
Cuadrado did feature in Fiorentina’s 1-1 draw against Roma on Sunday night as it was absolutely clear that Viola manager Vincenzo Montella doesn’t want to part with his prized asset.
Montella said, “I believe, as of today, there are no possibilities he will leave Fiorentina. He knows this and that these situations get exaggerated. I’m not angry with the media, In this case I’m not referring to the media, but to football. All that is being said is just talk and nothing more. The player is not involved in all of this”.
It is believed that Chelsea had bid £20.6m for Cuadrado but it was turned down by the Italian side last Wednesday. Chelsea are expected to make a better offer to land their target.
After yesterday’s draw against Roma, Fiorentina owner Andres Della Valle spoke on Cuadrado’s situation claiming that teh release clause for the player is high enough and hopes Cuadrado stays with the Florence based side. Viola News quoted him saying, “Cuadrado The clause is high and I hope that remains with us.”
