Italian giants Juventus are plotting sensational move for Borussia Dortmund central defender Mats Hummels, who is also a reported target of Manchester United.
Central defence is one of the areas where Manchester United will be looking to add quality players in, especially after the departures of two world-class centre-backs Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic. While Vidic has already joined Inter Milan, Ferdinand has been told that his contract won’t be renewed.
The 25-year-old German international is arguably one of the best defenders in the world at the moment and was thought to be United’s first choice this season.
According to reports in Italy, Juventus are targeting a swap deal to sign Hummels from Dortmund.
Dortmund are keen to sign striker Ciro Immobile to replace Robert Lewandowski, who will join in summer. Immobile is the top scorer in the Serie A with 22 goals for Torino, but he is co-owned by Juventus.
The German side are determined to land the young striker and according to Tuttosport, Dortmund have made an approach and that both the club are keen to do a business, but Torino seem reluctant to let the striker leave, which could complicate the deal.
Juventus could try to get a swap deal (cash plus Immobile) to tempt the German superstar to join the Serie A giants.
Hummels is not just another player for Dortmund, he is an asset of the club and it is highly unlikely that the German side will sell him.
