Sunderland on Sunday emphatically ended their season with a 5-0 trouncing of bottom club Luton Town at Kennilwoth Road.

Their end of season run of 20 games – starting on January 1st this year produced a phenomenal 16 wins, a single defeat and three draws.

In that period they scored 42 goals and conceded only 15 goals.

A tremendous run.

Any team that can produce a run like that – at the exact right time – deserves to be promoted – and promoted as Champions.

Well done Sunderland – well done Keane and Quinn and the staff – and congratulations to the great Sunderland fans for their support throughout the season.

As Newcastle fans we look forward to another two great derby games next season – and of course we expect the black and whites to win both games – no argument there.
