After signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan this summer for a reported fee of £16m, the Reds are all set to complete another transfer deal with the Serie A giants. Reports from Italy suggest that Liverpool midfielder Suso has agreed to join AC Milan and will sign a contract with the Rossoneri as soon as he will be allowed to do so.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joined Liverpool’s youth academy in 2010. He made his first appearance in a pre-season friendly against Borussia Mönchengladbach and participated in Jamie Carragher’s testimonial match in early September. However, he was soon placed in the reserves where he made a rapid progress with plenty of goals and assists.
He finally made his Premier League debut in 2012 and ended the season with 14 league appearances often earning rave reviews from Brendan Rodgers.
Last season, he was sent on loan to Almeria, where he played 33 league games for the La Liga outfit, managing three goals to his name.
This summer has been massive for Liverpool as they broke their transfer record by spending over £100m on new signings. The attacking midfield area has been bolstered, as a result, Suso would struggle to get regular games at Anfield.
Another loan move would have been ideal for Suso but it seems his future at Anfield is as good as over, with respected Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio claiming that the Spanish U-21 international has agreed to join Milan, who can sign him up permanently for a negligible fee in the January transfer window.
Although Suso received lucrative offers from Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid in the summer, he and his father together had decided that a move to Italy is ideal for him at the moment.
Milan have been smart in the transfer market this summer, signing Chelsea duo Marco van Ginkel and Fernando Torres on a temporary basis. Suso will add enough quality to the side that might help Milan mount a serious challenge for the Champions League spot.
