According to reports from Italian media outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport AC Milan are in talks to sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini on a season long loan deal. It is believed that the Rossoneri Vice-president and C.E.O Adriano Galliani has already submitted a proposal to sign the former Roma player as replacement for Mario Balotelli.
We had reported this morning that Chelsea’s Fernando Torres was just a step away to join the San Siro outfit, but it is now believed that Milan want to take the 23 year old Borini who impressed during his loan term at Sunderland in the 2013-14 season.
Borini however was also targeted by Napoli but reports have died down ever since. However now with Balotelli in the squad, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers would like to pair the former Manchester City striker up front with Daniel Sturridge. This would mean that Borini would have to look elsewhere to get regular game time on the pitch.
Earlier Liverpool had agreed on a £14m deal to sell Borini to Sunderland but the player himself rejected the move to fight for a starting eleven spot for the Anfield outfit.
