Ever since Cesc Fabregas has been made available for transfer by Barcelona, the media has gone into transfer overdrive. The Spanish media feels that his time at the Catalan club is as good as over and Premier League could be his next possible destination.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City were linked with a move by several media outlets in the last few days. The Gunners have the first option to counter bid if any club make formal offer for Fabregas and also are entitled to receive 50% of the transfer fee, should any club pay more than €36m. However, according to the Telegraph, the Gunners are reluctant to make a move for their former player.
Chelsea and Manchester United thought to have made a formal offer while Manchester City are out of the race, as per the latest report.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler feels Fabregas would be a terrific addition to the team, as the 27-year-old is world class.
“Fabregas is a player I’ve always liked,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “When those kind of players become available you always want to sign them.
“Fabregas is a world recognised player and he would suit the Liverpool system.”
The Times journalist Tony Barrett reported today that although manager Brendan Rodgers admires the player, but Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for him, rather, the Norther Irishman is interested in Barcelona’s winger Alexis Sanchez.
