Liverpool plotting move to sign Javier Hernandez

Liverpool plotting move to sign Javier Hernandez

Sep 22, 2024 5:21 PM

The appointment of Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager has resulted in top Bundesliga players being frequently linked with a move to Merseyside.

German media fears that top Premier League clubs are getting richer courtesy of the Premier League TV deal, and are looking to raid top talents from the Bundesliga.

The extra money earned from the new Premier League TV deal has boosted the overall revenues of the Premier League clubs, as 9 out of 20 European clubs to have featured in the Deloitte Money League Table are from the Premier League.

Liverpool, irrespective of where the finish at the end of the season, are still expected to spend big in the summer transfer window. And Klopp could be targeting the German market for reinforcement.

According to reports from SportBild, via SportWitness, Liverpool are planning to bring former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to Anfield next summer.

The Mexican striker has enjoyed a great season with Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 22 goals in 22 games in all competitions, but he is open to a move in the summer, and a return to the Premier League could be on the cards.

There is a good chance that Hernandez could leave Bayer in the summer should the German club fail to qualify for the Champions League next season. He has no shortage of admirers, with Premier League giants Arsenal also reportedly interested in signing him.
