Liverpool are set to offer Adam Lallana a new contract if recent reports are to be believed.
According to Daily Express, Lallana is a target for Tottenham and therefore the Reds are looking to double his wages in order to fend off interest from the Londoners.
Mauricio Pochettino has worked with Lallana at Southampton and is eyeing a reunion. Under Klopp, the England midfielder has been one of the best players in the Premier League and it is understandable why the Reds want to hold on to him.
The former Saints captain joined Liverpool in 2014 for a fee of £25 million.
The report from Express claims that Lallana earns around £60,000 per week now, but the new contract will double his wages. Once the deal is signed, Lallana will be the club’s highest earner alongside Sturridge and Milner.
Lallana has two years left on his current contract at Anfield.
In other news, Liverpool are all set to press ahead with the signing of Quincy Promes this month.
The Dutch winger has attracted a lot of interest with his explosive performances for Spartak and Klopp believes the wide forward can help his side challenge for the Premier League title.
If Liverpool manage to sign him, Promes could be the ideal alternative for Mane. The Senegal star is away on international duty for the rest of this month.
As per the report from Daily Mirror, Promes will cost around £25 million. The report also adds that Liverpool have been scouting him for a while now.
Also, Klopp is eyeing up a move for the Manchester United target Ben Brereton.
The Nottingham Forest star has scored 15 goals in 20 games so far this season and Klopp is an admirer of the talented young forward.
Mirror are reporting that Klopp personally called Nottingham Forest this week, via chief scout Barry Hunter, to find out more about Brereton’s situation.
