Failed Liverpool hitman Iago Aspas has been linked with a move back to former club Celta Vigo, with the Spanish striker close to ending his year-long nightmare at Anfield.
The 25-year-old, who only moved to Merseyside from Celta last season, has failed to score a single Premier League goal, with his only strike coming in the FA CUp win over Oldham; now according to ‘fichajes.net’, Aspas could well be on his way back to La Liga,
The report claims that while Valencia inquired about Aspas back in January, their interest has since cooled, leaving Celta Vigo the most likely option. The striker could even join on loan, depending on Liverpool’s willingness to try again with him in the future.
With Liverpool finishing second in the league, thereby qualifying for next season’s Champions League, Brendan Rodgers is expected to make changes to his squad, with the likes of Aspas sure to make way for new additions to what is already a vibrant Liverpool side.
