According to reports from the Daily Mail, Burnley have accepted Tottenham’s £12m bid for Liverpool target Danny Ings. This will come as a huge blow to Liverpool who were thought to be leading the race for the 22 year old English International.

Ings has scored 11 goals in 35 appearances this season but failed to save Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League. We had reported yesterday that the player is likely to be available for around £5m to £6m training compensation for Burnley, the club where he has spent the last four years of his career.

It is believed that Burnley will offer Ings a new contract as a formality in order to qualify for the compensation due under Premier League regulations. Should both the parties fail to agree on a deal, Ings’ transfer fee will be decided by a tribunal. However Tottenham’s bid will make it difficult for Liverpool to sign the player as the £4m-5m fee could go up to £8m or £10m.

Ings has also been approached by Spanish side Real Sociedad who are now managed by former Manchester United boss David Moyes. Should the player move to Socieded the fee would be even less at around £250,000 but Burnley would love to see the striker go to London which will help them get a higher price for the player.

Ings though has full control to choose where he will play next and there are also claims as per the Independent that he could prefer to move to Liverpool instead of Tottenham
