It’s no secret that Barcelona defender Dani Alves is out of contract in the coming summer and there are no dearth of potential suitors for the highly rated Brazilian. We had reported last week that the right back’s agent Dinorah Santana confirmed that his client is close to signing for another club in the coming summer.
Thus it was natural for various media outlets in Spain to report on where Alves’ future would be next. Madrid based media outlet MARCA published a report yesterday that the 31 year old had signed a three-year contract with French side Paris Saint-Germain. the story claims that Alves was given two days rest after Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano in the weekend.
It is believed that Alves traveled to Paris and close the deal. However another media outlet Sport report that the player was in Paris only for leisure. Alves despite being in his twilight of his career has been linked with a move to Manchester United while Liverpool, Juventus and Manchester City are also interested.
Alves turns 32 next May, and while he is not the same player he was 6-8 years back, the Brazilian is still good enough to represent any top club in the world. Should United manage to sign both him, the club would get a a world class player with plenty of experience. Liverpool could also make a late entry to sign the player with Glen Johnson certain to leave the club with an experience abroad possibly in Italy.
